Terms and conditions.

Arca is pre-alpha software that runs on your own computer. These terms are short because there is no account, no subscription and no service of ours holding your data.

What you are agreeing to

• Arca is provided under the MIT licence. You may use, copy, modify and distribute it, and the licence text in the repository is the authoritative version.
• There is no account to create and no payment to make. Nothing on this site sells you anything.
• The pilot is free for the agreed period. If that ever changes we will tell you before it does, not after.

What the software does, and what you remain responsible for

• Arca reads and drafts on your behalf using credentials you supply. You remain responsible for those credentials and for the accounts they belong to.
• Sending, calendar invitations and file deletion are gated behind your explicit approval by default. If you change those settings to act without asking, the actions it then takes are your own.
• You are responsible for your own obligations to your clients, including confidentiality duties and any rules your regulator or profession places on automated handling of correspondence.
• Arca is not legal, financial, tax or medical advice, and neither is anything it drafts.

Limits, stated plainly

• This is pre-alpha software written by two people. It will have bugs. Supervise it.
• It is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from its use.
• We cannot recover anything for you. Arca holds no copy of your mail or files, so if something is lost, your provider’s own recovery is the only route. Drive deletion is a move to the bin rather than a permanent delete, precisely for this reason.
• Third-party services you connect are governed by their own terms. Nothing here changes your agreement with Google, Microsoft, Notion, Slack or your model provider.

Ending it

• Stop using it whenever you like. Delete the folder and revoke the credentials you granted; there is nothing on our side to close.
• We may end a pilot with reasonable notice, and we will say why.
